Embed Biotech is proud to announce that Kenton Wong has been awarded the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) Prize for his outstanding Master’s project completed in collaboration with Embed Biotech. Following the award, Kenton has now joined the company as a Product Development Engineer.
Founded in 1847, the Institution of Mechanical Engineers’ annual IMechE Prize is awarded to an Imperial student who completes an exceptional research, development, or design project in Mechanical Engineering. Kenton won this year’s award in recognition of his work building a platform for investigating how cells respond to biophysical stimuli.
“Kenton’s work really stands out for the technical rigour and innovation shown across a complex project, which combined both engineering and experimental biology.” said Richard van Arkel, Founder and Chief Scientific Officer. “We are delighted to welcome him to the team as we continue advancing our technology towards clinical application.”
Kenton’s transition from award-winning student collaborator to Product Development Engineer reflects Embed Biotech’s continued connection to academic research and emerging engineering talent.
